Description

Mr Drescher is an experienced entrepreneur and investment professional, having spent 15 years building companies and investing in the high-growth SME segment. The last three years, most of his investment activity has been in Sub-Saharan Africa and focused around early stage SME high-growth businesses based on web- / mobile access. In 2017 Mr. Drescher was awarded “Business Angel of the year” in Denmark due to his successful work in the Eco-system. Furthermore, Mr. Drescher consults, trains and advises around large enterprises on Corporate Innovation. As a key investor in the seed-funds WMAfrica 2011 LLC (East Africa) and WMSA 2012 LLC (South Africa) and as an independent investor, he played an important role in a number in more than 40 investments across Sub-Saharan Africa. He is at the moment serving as Chairman of the Board of Mdundo.com(listed at Nasdaq), Sky.Garden, BeautyClick, GamerzClass, PP Capital, and RoofTop Apartments. Prior to investing in Sub-Saharan Africa, he built, acquired, managed and exited four companies within professional services in the Nordics, the latest being Capacent Management Consulting, which was sold to KPMG. In his consulting career he mainly did due diligence projects for private equity firms, strategy and operational excellence projects as well as Corporate Innocation. Prior to building his own companies Mr. Drescher was a management consultant at A.T. Kearney. Mr. Drescher is a Danish national and living in Denmark. He holds a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD and a Master of Economics from University of Southern Denmark/University of Florida. He is furthermore coaching MBA students at INSEAD on entrepreneurship as well as guest speaking in “New business ventures” at INSEAD."
